The statue of Thích Quảng Đức Buddha in Vietnamese National Pagoda (Việt Nam Quốc Tự Temple).

This temple was founded by the Late Monk Thích Tâm Giác (釋心覺 / 석심각) on April 26 1964 (1964년 4월 26일), located on Trần Quốc Toản street (where is now called 3 Tháng 2 street) in District 10, Sài Gòn city, Southern Vietnam, under Republic Of South Vietnam. On October 12 2014 (2014년 10월 12일) when is on Avalokitesvara Buddha's Day (Ngày Vía Phật Quan Thế Âm / 관세음불의 날), the construction of the new pagoda was started as they rebuilt and upgraded it like its present looking. This is one of the biggest Buddhist temples in Sài Gòn city with the total area of 11,000 m2 until the construction and restoration was ended. Việt Nam Quốc Tự Pagoda was inaugurated solemnly on November 7 2017 (2017년 11월 7일). One year after the event of Monk Thích Quảng Đức self immolated to against President Ngô Đình Diệm's family for biased Christianity and limited and discriminated to Buddhism and Buddhist army generals, Vietnamese Buddhists founded their own Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha Group (Giáo Hội Phật Giáo Việt Nam Thống Nhất / 越南統一佛教會 / 베트남 통일 불교회) in 1964.

This tower has 13 stories with the height of 63m, the cross section of the stupa has a square shape, all the roofs are red-brown, curved upward and decorated with phoenix ornaments. The floors have yellow painted walls and many windows. On the top of the stupa is installed a 6 tons bronze stupa cast in bronze casting village in Ý Yên District, Nam Định Province.
The stupa has 13 floors because it was built to memorize the protest held by Vietnamese Buddhists and monks against religious inequality in 1963. The 13 story stupa represents the union of 13 Buddhist organizations, societies, branches participating in the protest in 1963. And on May 23 2019 (2019년 5월 23일), Thích Quảng Đức Bodhisattva's Relics, including his bones and Unburnt Heart Sarira and the set of his Lotus Sutra (Kinh Pháp Hoa / 妙法蓮華經 / 묘법연화경) were moved from Quán Thế Âm Pagoda in Phú Nhuận District, where was the last Buddhist temple that Monk Thích Quảng Đức abboted to this Việt Nam Quốc Tự Temple (Vietnamese National Pagoda). This tower is now storing his Eternal Heart Relic.

His dead body was burnt to 4,000 degree of Celcius twice, everything is burned to ashes except only his unburnt heart still remains and they stored it in Xá Lợi Temple (Sarira Pagoda) in District 10, Sài Gòn city. And since May 23 2019, his Eternal Heart Relic is stored in this 13 Story Tower in Việt Nam Quốc Tự Temple until now.

The statue of Lord Sakyamuni (Amitabha) Buddha in this Main Hall is 7.5m high and weighed 35 tons and it's recognized as the biggest Buddha's bronze statue in Vietnam. Việt Nam Quốc Tự Pagoda is now the new headquarters of the (Communist) Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam (founded in 1982) since the former headquarters was Xá Lợi Pagoda.
